The video game can be divided into three basic categories: Standard Video Power: Played like a regular card game of Poker, in which you compete against the hands of other players, either real or computer-generated. Power Video Poker: A variation that allows you to play up to five separate hands at one time. Progressive Video Poker: A variation that lets you go for a cumulative, or Progressive, jackpot, usually only if you bet the maximum number of credits on a hand. Within the basic categories outlined above, here are the basics of some of the most popular Video Poker game variations, including the point at which hands begin to pay you even money (1 to 1) for your bet, and the higher end of the payouts. Aces and Faces: Played with a 52-card deck, no wild cards. Pays out the same as Jacks or Better (see below), but: Four-of-a-kind numbered cards pays 25 to 1. Four Kings, Queens, or Jacks pays 40 to 1 Four Aces pays 80 to 1. Deuces and Joker: Played with a 53-card deck, including a Joker. Similar to Deuces Wild (see below), with the Joker becoming a fifth wild card. Payouts begin with 1 to 1 for three-of-a-kind and increase to: Four deuces pays 25 to 1. Natural Royal Flush pays 800 to 1. Five Wild Cards (four Deuces plus the Joker) pays 2,000 to 1. Deuces Wild: Played with a 52-card deck. All 2s (deuces) are wild cards. Payouts begin with 1 to 1 for three-of-a-kind, and increase to: Royal Flush with Deuces pays 25 to 1. Four deuces pays 200 to 1. Royal Flush pays 250 to 1. Double Joker: Played with a 52-card deck, including both Jokers, which are wild cards. Payouts begin with 1 to 1 for two pairs, and increase to: Five of a kind pays 50 to 1. Wild Royal Flush pays 100 to 1. Royal Flush pays 250 to 1. Jacks or Better: Played with a 52-card deck, no wild cards.
